About us
CERT.LV - the Information Technologies Security Incident Response Institution of the Republic of Latvia.
Our mission is to promote information technology (IT) security in Latvia. CERT.LV operates under the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Latvia and is regulated by the Information Technology Security Law.
CERT.LV main tasks are to maintain and update information on IT security threats, provide support in the case of IT security incident, advise governmental institutions, organize informative and educational activities for the government employees, IT security professionals and general public. CERT.LV is in charge of security throughout the Latvian electronic information space and under the TLD .lv. Latvian IP address space: http://www.nic.lv/lix
All services are free of charge including 24x7 assistance in incident handling, co-ordination of incident handling (with other CSIRTs and local authorities), vulnerability analysis, artefact analysis, assistance in implementation of proactive defence against attacks, IT security related events, and awareness raising activities.
CERT.LV supports Information Technology and Information Systems Security Experts Group “DEG”, initiative for the safer Internet environment “Responsible Internet Service Provider”, and maintains website esidross.lv which is aimed at a wide audience and answers such questions as how to protect your computer and be safe on the Internet.
